Description:

The program supports the creation, recording and production of French-language songs and music by professional artists. It allows artists to devote themselves to creation or production projects, to foster the development of song and music artists by prioritizing access to cutting-edge human and technical resources for the realization of their project, and to help artists make their works known.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

1. Professional music artists who reside in Ontario.
2. Ad hoc groups, collectives and non-profit music organizations composed of professional music artists of whom at least 50% reside in Ontario.
3. A group or organization, one of the members) must also be:
a. either the author-composer of the songs that are the subject of the request.
b. or the lyricist of the songs that are the subject of the request. You must specify the name of the French-speaking composer(s) with whom you will collaborate on the project.
c. or the composer of the music that is the subject of the request. If applicable, you must specify the name of the French-speaking lyricist(s) with whom you will collaborate on the project.

Application Steps:

Applicants must complete and submit an application in Nova, OAC’s online grant application system. You will be able to do this approximately two months before the deadline.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. basic information about the project
2. answers to the questions asked in the application form .
3. The project budget
4. artistic examples: you must submit two songs or works, in audio or video format (combined duration of five minutes maximum)
5. supporting documents:
a. Biographical notice(s) of the candidate and the artists.
b. Category: Music video production: CV of the music video director (mandatory).
c. Lyrics of the songs.
