Description:

This program provides businesses a contribution to improve their productivity and alleviate their labor shortage through the use of advanced technology such as automation, robotization, etc.

Comments on Funding:

1. Manufacturing sector enterprises implementing an Industry 4.0 project: Maximum financial contribution of up to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) per project, covering up to 50% of eligible expenses.
2. Enterprises in other sectors: Maximum financial contribution of up to one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) per project, covering up to 35% of eligible expenses.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be incorporated private enterprises*;
-*Individual businesses and partnerships predominantly owned by Indigenous individuals and located in the Wendake territory are eligible.
2. be social economy enterprises (non-profits and cooperatives) predominantly engaged in commercial activities.
3. have projects located in the Agglomeration of Quebec (cities of Quebec, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, and L’Ancienne-Lorette) and Wendake.

Exclusions:
1. Vehicle dealerships, auto parts retailers, gas stations, and collaborative tourist accommodations (e.g., Airbnb, Home Away), as well as businesses operating exclusively online;
2. Social economy enterprises (non-profits and cooperatives) that fail to demonstrate sound democratic governance;
3. Applicants not discharged from bankruptcy;
4. Enterprises listed in the Registry of Companies Ineligible for Public Contracts;
5. Applicants who, in the two years preceding the financial aid application, have failed to meet obligations related to prior financial assistance from the City of Quebec, after proper notice;
6. Applicants with outstanding amounts owed to the City of Quebec;
7. Projects of a discriminatory, controversial, or negatively image-related nature for the City of Quebec;
8. One-time event-based projects are also excluded.

Admissible Business Sectors:
1. Priority Sectors:
a) Agri-food, food processing, and healthy foods;
b) Digital arts and interactive entertainment, financial technologies, artificial intelligence, smart city or other digital products and technologies, excluding services and consulting;
c) Optics-photonics, measurement and control technologies, advanced electronics;
d) Life sciences, biotechnologies, and health technologies;
e) Clean technologies: water, air, soil treatment, eco-mobility, energy efficiency, renewable energies, green chemistry, waste management, enabling technologies, and sustainable development.
2. Strategic Sectors:
a) Art, culture, and heritage;
b) Insurance and financial services;
c) Manufacturing, materials, industrial transformation, robotics, and industry 4.0;
d) Urban security;
e) Tourism.
3. Commercial Sectors:
a) Retail, restaurants, enterprises providing services to leisure and business tourists visiting the agglomeration (including tourist accommodations);
b) Limited to businesses with 20 employees or fewer (full-time equivalent) per establishment.
