Description:

This program is designed to stimulate investments in order to increase the competitiveness of companies or improve their environmental footprint.

Comments on Funding:

The financial assistance covers 50% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $300,000.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be a business registered with the Québec Enterprise Register that holds one of the following permits:
1. permit for a local slaughterhouse or a slaughterhouse under permanent inspection granted under the Food Products Act (CQLR, chapter P-29);
2. wholesale meat products permit (C1) granted under the Food Products Act (CQLR, chapter P-29) primarily transforming meat from a provincially inspected slaughterhouse;
3. animal slaughter license for human consumption (federally inspected slaughterhouse) under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations;
4. operating permit for a dairy plant granted under the Food Products Act (CQLR, chapter P-29).

The selection of applications is done through a call for projects. The projects submitted to the summer 2023 call are currently under analysis. No other call for projects is planned at the moment.​ This program is in effect until March 31, 2024, or until the funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first.
