Description:
A retailer who replaces automated returnable container recovery equipment or acquires new equipment is eligible for financial assistance equivalent to the lesser of $7,500 or 65% of the purchase price of the new equipment. In the case of modular equipment, the latter will be eligible to receive a subsidy for each of the modules making up the equipment.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be retailers wishing to replace or acquire a new gobeuse.
Application Steps:
Applicants (retailers) must:
1. complete the application form:
a) Form for a single address;
b) Multiple Address Form.
2. attach the required documents to the form and send the form and submission to gobeuse@faqdd.qc.ca.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must provide these documents attached to the form:
1. a quote from a supplier with details of the equipment chosen and signed by the retailer;
2. Appendix A, entitled “Collection agreement for new equipment and/or for non-store collection” signed by the retailer and the collector(s) for all financed equipment;
3. Appendix B, entitled “Agreement for sharing data collected with managers of the deposit system for all financed equipment” signed;
4. For any equipment installed outside the store, proof of address of the installation location and a photo of the site.
Other Things to Note:
In March 2018, the Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MELCC) allocated $15 million to implement a financial assistance program aimed at modernizing returnable container recovery equipment (gobeuses) at Quebec retailers.
