Description:

The objective of the program is to support companies, primarily SMEs, in carrying out their innovation projects, whether the projects are carried out in Quebec or with partners located abroad. Funding is delivered in tiers, depending on the project’s nature and/or structure.

Funding takes the form of non-repayable contributions.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be:
1. a for-profit company or group of companies from all sectors of activity;
2. a social economy enterprise (cooperatives and NPOs) within the meaning of the Social Economy Act (CQLR, chapter E 1.1.1).

For business combinations, applications for financial assistance can be submitted by an NPO responsible for managing and monitoring the project. The NPO can set up the project, file the application and manage it.

Other Things to Note:

As of February 15, 2024, the Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy is interrupting the Innovation Program. This suspension is mainly intended to ensure the availability of funds in order to respect contractual commitments.

Investissement Québec administers this program as an agent of the Government of Québec. Thus, the processing of applications for financial assistance (eligibility, analysis and decision) is the responsibility of Investissement Québec.
