Description:

The objective of the program is to financially support private companies so that they pool their efforts (mobilizing projects) to carry out a development project for an innovative product or process, by mobilizing universities, public research centers and SMEs.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of non-repayable contributions of up to 50% of eligible expenses.
Maximum cumulative government assistance must not exceed 70% of eligible expenses.

Applicants must be:
1. for-profit businesses in all industries;
2. social economy enterprises (cooperatives and NPOs) within the meaning of the Social Economy Act (CQLR, chapter E 1.1.1).

Under this component, clients must form a group of at least two entities. Applications for financial assistance must be submitted by an NPO responsible for managing and monitoring the project on behalf of all partners.

Other Things to Note:

As of February 15, 2024, the Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy is interrupting the Innovation Program. This suspension is mainly intended to ensure the availability of funds in order to respect contractual commitments.

1. Part 2 of the Innovation program is only accessible when a specific call for projects is underway. Companies cannot continuously submit financial assistance applications through this avenue. 2. Investissement Québec administers this program as an agent of the Government of Québec. The processing of financial assistance applications (eligibility, analysis and decision) is the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
