Description:

This program provides financial support to Quebec craft companies to enter, develop or consolidate their markets outside Quebec, to increase their visibility on the international stage, and to export and promote Quebec works.
There are 5 program components for Quebec crafts businesses:
1. Strategic development of companies abroad;
2. Projects:
a) Support for business opportunities and promotion abroad;
b) Support for export – art market.
3. Collective presence at markets and fairs, and other export activities;
4. International relationships;
5. Strategic initiatives.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of grants for components 1-4 and grant or loan for the Strategic Initiatives component.

Application intake deadlines vary per stream.

Eligibility:

General Eligibility Criteria:
1. Companies operating in the fields of cinema, television, music, variety shows, books and publishing, crafts, the art market, and interactive works in these domains that meet the Quebec ownership requirements of the SODEC support program intended for them;
2. In the fields of cinema and television, individuals are also eligible even if they operate alone;
3. Companies with their headquarters established in Quebec – the headquarters refers to the place where the center of decision-making and true management of the company is located. The term “companies” includes for-profit entities (including sole proprietorships), non-profit organizations, cooperatives, consortia formed by Quebec companies, and sectoral associations of cultural companies;

4. For more details on ownership requirements by domain, please refer to the explanatory note;
5. Applicants generally must offer products in the targeted markets with predominantly Quebec cultural content. They must have fulfilled their obligations to SODEC in case of previous participation in the SODEXPORT program or any other SODEC program.
6. Specific eligibility criteria per stream are indicated.

Application Steps:

1. All requests must be sent through the secure electronic portal SOD@ccès.
2. By connecting to SOD@ccès, applicants must:
a) create their user profile if they are a new user or enter their access codes;
b) choose the program number corresponding to the component for which they wish to submit a request (the program numbers are specified in the guide for submitting a request in SOD@ccès);
c) complete the application form and upload all required documents.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must prepare the documentation to transfer to SOD@ccès, including:
1. a declaration of the applicant company;
2. completed application form;
3. additional information, as listed.
