Description:

The Agri-Environmental Remuneration (RA) ministerial initiative is one of the flagship measures of the 2020-2030 Sustainable Agriculture Plan . It aims to recognize and financially encourage the adoption of agri-environmental practices that go beyond regulatory requirements and generate significant environmental gains.

Deadline:

The registration period for the initiative is from March 5 to 31, 2025 or until funds are exhausted.

Eligibility:

Eligible customers
To be eligible, the applicant must:

be an agricultural business registered with MAPAQ;
be the owner or tenant of agricultural land located in Quebec;
commit to applying at least one agro-environmental practice among those eligible for remuneration;
carry out, before the end of the participation period, an assessment of agro-environmental risks.
Eligible practices
The following agro-environmental practices are eligible for financial assistance:

Off-season soil protection

B. Winter cover crops
C. Combination of no fall tillage followed by practice B
E. Combination of practice C followed by no spring tillage
F. Autumn crops
Reduction in the use of herbicides

A. Localized spraying
B. Intercropping cover crops
C. Band spraying
D. Physical or mechanical weeding

Application Steps:

Calls for participation in the Initiative and documents relating to the submission of applications are published on the website
of La Financière agricole du Québec, at the following address: https://www.fadq.qc.ca/accueil/. To take part in the Initiative, the applicant must complete, when a registration period opens and no later than the deadline
indicated for it, the registration form by going to their client file under the “transactional services” tab. If they do not have an
online file, they must first contact the service center in their region to complete this process: https://www.fadq.qc.ca/fr/pournous-joindre/.
