Biofood Innovation Program Component 5 – Support for knowledge transfer and dissemination​

Description:

Promote the adoption of new practices by biofood companies by carrying out projects linked to the transfer of knowledge, practices and technologies resulting from research results.

Comments on Funding:

Financial assistance covers 70 % of eligible expenses, up to $ 57,500 for Category A and B projects, $143,750 for Category C projects and $ 5,750 for Category D projects (including administration costs).

Eligibility:

Eligible projects
To be eligible, all projects must meet the following conditions:

Match one of the following:
Structuring research and development projects;
Structuring initiatives for research and innovation partnerships with collective scope in line with the priorities of the sector as well as with the objectives of the call for projects;
Research or teaching chairs;
Innovation networks;
Structuring research projects linked to agro-environmental issues;
Increase the competitiveness of the sector or respond to a harmful agro-environmental problem;
Have a maximum duration of five years.
Projects must target one of the priorities defined in the calls for projects with the aim of responding to one or more challenges in the biofood sector.

Eligible projects
To be eligible, projects must meet the following conditions:

Have a maximum duration of two years from confirmation of financial assistance;
Be supported by a scientific expert attached to a research establishment or a technology transfer establishment (for category B and C projects);
Aim to transfer or disseminate new knowledge, practices or technologies resulting from research results;
Aim for adoption by biofood companies of new knowledge, practices and technologies transferred or disseminated;
Register in one of the categories indicated below:
​A. Communication activity on innovation
B. New dissemination tools relating to technical knowledge, with the exception of tools which mainly concern the agro-environment
C. Technology showcase with sectoral scope, with the exception of showcases which mainly concern the agro-environment
D. Welcoming foreign experts (outside Quebec).​
