Description:

Increase the development of new knowledge, new products or new processes and their adaptation to businesses in the commercial fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Comments on Funding:

Financial assistance can cover up to 80 % of eligible expenses, for a maximum of $210,000 per project. A 10 % increase in the financial assistance rate may be granted for projects located in the Magdalen Islands agglomeration.

Deadline:

Project submissions are ongoing. The deadline for submitting an application for financial assistance is March 1 , 2028 .

Commercial fishing and aquaculture and aquatic product processing enterprises;
Band tips.

Send the following mandatory documents to the email address pib.depot@mapaq.gouv.qc.ca​ :

Documentation Needed:

the financial assistance application form – Component 3 (PDF 1.57 MB) duly completed and signed;
budget forecasts for the duration of the financial assistance using the Financing plans and implementation schedule form (XLSX 252 KB) (appendix 1);
the certificate of commitment of partners (PDF 1.00 MB) (annex 2), when required;
the resumes of the members of the project implementation team, including external experts or specialized resources, if applicable, validating the experience and expertise of this team.

Other Things to Note:

Eligible projects
To be eligible, projects must meet the following conditions:

Be made in Quebec;
Have a maximum duration of three years;
Consist of applied research and experimental development activities;
Have reached a technological maturity level of at least 2 before starting;
Achieve a maximum technological maturity level of 5 at the end of the project phase financed by this component;
Contain elements of scientific or technological uncertainty;
Lead to the creation of a significant new or significantly improved element;
Consider that the product or process, if intended for sale, may have commercial potential;
Use tests and analyses according to a scientific protocol;
Call on external experts who are competent or have the expertise necessary to carry out the project.
