Description:
The NovaScience program – Support for employment (component 2) in research and innovation promotes the integration of the next generation into jobs in SMEs to develop skills in science and technology.
Comments on Funding:
Financial assistance takes the form of a non-repayable grant of up to $30,000 per project, for a period of twelve months.
The maximum aid rate is 50 % of eligible expenses.
The accumulation of government assistance cannot exceed 80% of eligible expenses for NPOs and 50 % of eligible expenses for OBLs.

Eligibility:
Projects in research, innovation and life sciences
The following are eligible :
non-profit organizations (NPOs) and for-profit organizations (OBLs) with fewer than 500 employees having an establishment in Quebec;
collective enterprises (cooperatives) within the meaning of the Social Economy Act.
Educational institutions, school organizations and hospital centers or college technology transfer centers affiliated with it are not eligible.
Digital transformation projects for a company’s activities
The following are eligible :
for-profit organizations (NPOs) with fewer than 500 employees having an establishment in Quebec;
collective enterprises (cooperatives) within the meaning of the Social Economy Act .
Applicants must meet the following conditions :
Not to be or not to use the services of subcontractors registered in the Register of companies not eligible for public contracts (RENA).
Have met all their obligations relating to the allocation of previous financial assistance from the Government of Quebec or Investissement Québec for at least two years.
Not be a Crown corporation or a corporation controlled directly or indirectly by a government (municipal, provincial or federal), a municipal entity or a business that is majority owned by a Crown corporation.
Not be in a situation of bankruptcy or insolvency.
Not to commit ethical breaches or offer products or services that could undermine the integrity or call into question the probity of the Government of Quebec, even by association. For example:
the production or distribution of weapons;
exploration, extraction, drilling, production and refining related to fossil fuels such as oil and thermal coal, except for activities aimed at a transition to a low-carbon economy;
gambling, violent games, combat sports involving any living species, racing or other similar activities;
sexual exploitation, for example an erotic bar, an escort agency, an erotic massage parlor or a swingers club;
the production, sale and services related to the consumption of tobacco or drugs, with the exception of interventions relating to industrial cannabis and hemp presented in section 4.3.1.3 of the regulatory framework;
any activity whose main subject is protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (religion, politics, defense of rights, etc.).

Any request for financial assistance will be analyzed according to the following criteria :
compliance with the criteria associated with the type of project submitted;
the clarity, relevance and consistency of job-related mandates;
the nature and diversity of the mandates to be carried out in connection with research and innovation, life sciences or digital transformation;
the match between the project, the job and the profile of the candidate;
guarantees of project completion.
