Description:

The Compétivert initiative, which aimed to encourage companies to integrate clean technologies and adopt eco-responsible practices in order to reduce their environmental footprint while increasing their competitiveness, is now over.

Comments on Funding:

1. Funding takes the forms of term loans and loan guarantee with a minimum funding of $50,000.
– up to 100% of project costs;
– short or long-term financing up to 25 years;
– capital repayment moratorium up to 48 months.

2. It also offers a financial assistance (grant) possible up to 75%* through its industrial environmental performance diagnosis – GHG (Greenhouse Gases) program.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be companies that develop clean technologies or adopt clean technologies and eco-responsible practices, except those operating in the following sectors:
a) Agricultural exploitation** (** Businesses that are not eligible for Financière agricole du Québec programs could benefit from funding from Investissement Québec.);
b) Finance and insurance;
c) Real estate (certain activities are excluded);
d) Other sectors in the case where the clientele is mainly made up of individuals, with the exception of the tourism sector;
2. be businesses that wish to increase their productivity and competitiveness while reducing their environmental footprint;
3. have their head office, decision-making center and main establishment in Quebec.

Other Things to Note:

From 2021 to 2023, $1.3 billion was authorized for 333 projects, with a total value of $4.8 billion. The three-year funding target of $1 billion has therefore been exceeded, demonstrating the commitment of businesses and the scale of the business opportunities to be seized.
