Description:

This program aims to support independent Quebec companies producing fiction, documentary or animated television series, with the aim of improving their positioning on foreign markets.

Eligibility:

Eligible Clientele:
1. Be a legally constituted for-profit company with its primary activity in audiovisual production;
2. Have its headquarters and main establishment in Quebec and demonstrate that effective control of the company is predominantly held by Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have their tax residence in Quebec. The term “headquarters and main establishment” refers to the location where the center of decision-making is situated and where the true management of the company takes place;
3. Have been in operation for at least two years and have a significant international presence based on a diversified production volume of fictional television series, documentaries, or animation;
4. Attain the required minimum financial score (see Financial Eligibility and Evaluation Grid section below); An eligible company, including its affiliated companies, can submit only one application per submission.
The following are not eligible for this program:
1. Individual businesses;
2. Canadian broadcasting companies or any company controlled by a Canadian broadcasting company.

The company, including its affiliated companies, that qualifies for and accepts corporate aid is not allowed to:
1. submit a new application to this program during the three-year corporate aid application period;
2. submit applications to SODEC programs “Aide à la production télévisuelle – Bonification de la valeur de production” and “Aide au prédéveloppement de séries télévisées basées sur des adaptations littéraires” during the three-year period covered by corporate aid.

Application Steps:

1. All requests must be sent through the secure electronic portal SOD@ccès.
2. By connecting to SOD@ccès, applicants must:
a) create their user profile if they are a new user or enter their access codes;
b) choose the program corresponding to their request (the program numbers are listed in the submission guides);
c) complete the application form and upload all required documents.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must prepare the documentation to transfer to SOD@ccès, including:
1. a declaration of the applicant company;
2. a forecast project plan;
3. additional information, as listed.

Other Things to Note:

Please ensure that you attach all required documents to SOD@ccès. Documents must be compliant, complete, in force, dated and signed by the persons with the required authority, when required. Only complete and compliant applications will be analyzed. Applications that are incomplete by their submission deadlines will be declared inadmissible and must be resubmitted. Read the Info-SODEC about the processing of incomplete applications.
