Description:

Component 2 of the Fund to Stimulate International Business Tourism (FSTAI) aims to stimulate the attraction and holding of major international business events in Quebec by supporting the implementation of canvassing and familiarization activities.

Comments on Funding:

Support may vary depending on the financial resources available under the program as well as the number of eligible applications.

The maximum assistance is $200,000 per applicant, for all projects funded under sections 1 and 2.

Financial assistance may not under any circumstances be increased to compensate for cost overruns in approved projects.

Eligibility:

The following are eligible:

for-profit organizations (NPOs);
non-profit organizations (NPOs);
cooperatives;
municipal entities;
Indigenous communities, organizations and nations recognized by the National Assembly.
Applicants specializing in research or associated with a research and teaching establishment will benefit from separate financial aid arrangements.

The organization must be an entity active in the events sector, i.e.:

an organizing entity;
an entity specialized in the promotion of events;
a destination management body.
The organization must be a corporation or other type of entity legally incorporated in Quebec.

In order for a request for financial assistance to be considered, the following documents must be prepared:

applications filed or confirmations of commitments from other levels of government.
It is possible to apply under all three sections, in which case the application must relate to the same event.

An incomplete file on the start date of the analysis period will not be processed by the management committee. It will be carried over to the following period, if applicable.

Depending on the availability of funds, the next deadlines for calls for projects are: May 3, July 5, August 30 and November 1 , 2024.

Applications can be submitted continuously to Tourisme Laval as part of calls for projects which will end on the following dates:

July 5, 2024
August 30, 2024
November 1 , 2024
Applications may also be submitted between call for projects dates if circumstances require.

Depending on the availability of funds, other calls for projects could be announced subsequently.
