The Assistance Program for the Integration of Immigrants and Visible Minorities in Employment (PRIIME) provides financial support to cover part or all of the salary or fees of the employee who supports and supervises the newly hired person, as well as part or all of the costs additional training and costs related to the adaptation of human resources management practices and tools for employers hiring immigrants and visible minorities.


Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the forms of grants and subsidies:
Wage subsidy:
- Maximum duration granted of up to 40 weeks;
- Maximum percentage of financial assistance granted: up to 60% of gross salary;
- Maximum amount that can be granted: amount equivalent to the minimum wage in force, for a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Subsidy for support:
- Maximum percentage of financial assistance granted: up to 100% of the gross salary or fees of an attendant;
- Maximum amount that can be granted: up to $2,000.

Subsidy for additional training:
- Maximum duration granted: up to 80 hours;
- Maximum percentage of financial assistance granted: up to 100% of direct costs related to training;
- Maximum amount that can be granted: up to $5,000.

Grant for the adaptation of human resources management practices and tools:
- Maximum percentage of financial assistance granted: up to 100% of direct costs;
- Maximum amount that can be granted: up to $5,000.

People with Disabilities
- The wage subsidy can extend up to 60 weeks and cover up to 70% of the gross salary (maximum: minimum wage in force) for people with disabilities;
- Possibility of reimbursing the employer for certain general expenses for disabled people to enable their participation in the program, up to an amount of $10,000.
Here are some examples of costs:
a) rental or purchase of equipment for adapting workstations;
b) work for the accessibility of the premises.
