By mmuise
Description:

This program, set up by the City of Trois-Rivières, aims to stimulate the private sector to develop rental housing units of 2 to 50 units in the downtown area, where there is a significant shortage of housing for middle-income clients. This program also aims to redevelop vacant land through the construction of a new building or the expansion of an existing building.

Comments on Funding:

The financial assistance varies per eligible projects, including:
1. $6,200 for a one-bedroom housing unit; $8,100 for a two-bedroom housing unit.
2. For a newly constructed parking space within an underground parking lot to serve one or more eligible housing units, the granted financial assistance is $6,400 and cannot exceed $118,000.
3. If the demolition of a dilapidated or dangerous main building is necessary for the new construction, the City provides financial assistance equivalent to 10% of the demolition cost, up to a maximum of $50,000. To be eligible for this financial assistance, the value of the new building must be equal to or greater than the demolition cost. For a building or a group of buildings located on the same lot, the granted financial assistance cannot exceed $242,500 (including the demolition amount).
