Programme Amorce

The program is a catalyst for establishing initial collaborations between a Quebec SME and its research partner. The proposed initiative must allow for an evolutionary understanding of SME's processes or products and must be linked to some of the CRITM's research axes.

Comments on Funding:

Through the Amorce program, CRITM offers a funding rate of 70% of eligible expenses, which equates to a reimbursement of 70% of the research institution's service offering. The maximum amount for this program is $10,000 per initiative.

Deadline: Continuous Intake

Applicants must:

  • be SMEs operating in various sectors of metal processing: Extraction and Concentration, Primary Production, First, Second, and Third Transformation, Finished Products, not to mention Metal Recycling, that:
    a) are legally incorporated under federal or Quebec laws and registered with the Quebec Business Registry;
    b) have their headquarters in Quebec, and their employees or subcontractors must primarily work from Quebec;
    c) employ 249 or fewer employees in Quebec;
    d) not be owned in a proportion of 50% or more by other existing companies or organizations;
    e) valid members of CRITM.
  • have projects associated with metals, such as, for example, steel, aluminum, or other metals listed as critical and strategic minerals (CSM) by the Government of Quebec (nickel, titanium, magnesium, copper, zinc, rare earths, and others).
  • have projects involve other non-metallic substances essential to metallurgical processes or identified as CSM.
