Healthy Food: Stream 2 – Support for the Development and Modification of the Nutritional Value of Processed Foods​

Description:

This program aims to increase the number of foods of good nutritional quality, foods with improved nutritional value and foods with health value among the foods processed and offered in Québec. Its 2nd stream is designed to Increase the number of foods of good nutritional quality, foods with improved nutritional value, foods with health value and foods reduced in food additives by carrying out projects for the development or improvement of nutritional quality.

Comments on Funding:

The financial assistance covers 60% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $150,000 per applicant for the duration of the program. The minimum eligible expenses are $10,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be businesses that fall into either of the following categories are eligible:
a) food processing companies;
b) companies that outsource;
c) companies with a central kitchen;
d) business associations of food processing companies;
2. be businesses must also meet the following requirements:
a) registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registry;
b) located in Quebec or have at least one establishment or branch located in Quebec;
c) conduct food processing in Quebec for the foods developed within the scope of the project;
d) commercialize at least one food product in Quebec.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. ​consult the Applicant’s Guide – Part 2 (PDF, 260 KB);
2. complete the following documents for the component concerned:
a) ​Financial assistance application form​ ( PDF, 850 KB);
b) Template for additional information – Part 2 (DOC, 60 KB).
3. send the following mandatory documents by email to the address transfo@mapaq.gouv.qc.ca.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
​1. Financial assistance application form duly completed and signed;
2. Template for additional information ;
3. Curriculum vitae and proof of expertise of the external consultant or internal specialist;​
​4. Service offer from the external consultant or pay slip from the internal specialist;
5. Financial statements audited, reviewed or compiled by an external professional accountant (CPA) representing a full year of operation (12 months) or detailed business plan for businesses operating for less than a full year.​

Other Things to Note:

Projects can be submitted continuously until March 31, 2025.
