Horizons d’ici Fund: Propelling a Collaborative Tourism Project Using Crowdfunding

Description:
The Fund aims to support the development of collaborative projects in tourism.
Comments on Funding:
Financial assistance is conditional on the availability of funds.
Financial assistance granted through the Fund is non-refundable.
The maximum support granted through the Fund is equivalent to 100% of the amount of the crowdfunding campaign objective, if it is successful, up to $100,000.
If a crowdfunding campaign reaches more than 100% of the set objective, the contribution from the Government of Quebec remains the same as that set when the campaign was launched.

Eligibility:
for-profit organizations (NPOs);
non-profit organizations (NPOs);
cooperatives;
Indigenous communities and nations recognized by the National Assembly as well as Indigenous organizations and businesses;
any grouping of these customers.
The applicant may submit a project on an individual basis as a self-employed worker or on behalf of any legal form of business that is part of the eligible clientele. This applicant must demonstrate that the project is related to his/her field of skills and expertise.
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
be legally constituted under the laws of the Government of Quebec or the Government of Canada for more than one year and have a head office located in Quebec, with the exception of self-employed workers filing an application in their own name;
comply with applicable laws and regulations and hold a registration number, with the exception of indigenous communities and nations;
for self-employed workers submitting a project in a personal capacity, make a commitment when submitting their application to confirm that they are legally constituted under the laws (if they have been in business for more than a year) and that they are primarily domiciled in Quebec;
be registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar, when the crowdfunding campaign is $10,000 or more.

Application Steps:
Before submitting your application, you must:
having had a first meeting with the La Ruche team;
have completed and created a project page on La Ruche (including the FAQ);
have met with an additional financing advisor from La Ruche during a deposit interview and have in hand the mandatory documents depending on the nature of the project.
You must then prepare the mandatory documents according to the nature of the project:
Description of the project (objectives, expected benefits, list of partners, promotional strategy for the crowdfunding campaign, etc.);
The project budget document (template provided);
A project communication plan, where applicable;
Letters of support for the project;
Submissions, where applicable;
Confirmation letters for all contributions in cash and in goods and services made outside the campaign and included in the financial structure of the projects;
Any other supporting document relevant to the project and useful for its understanding.

Other Things to Note:
Terms
A project cannot benefit from non-reimbursable financial assistance from another program of the Ministry of Tourism, including programs set up in partnership with regional or sectoral tourism associations and any other program or measure financed by the Ministry of Tourism and administered by a third party (governmental and non-governmental partners).
It also cannot have received funding from a ministry or government agency of Quebec or Canada, including a municipal entity, as part of the same project, at the time of launch on the platform.
