Technopreneur is a path that allows graduate students and graduates to live the entrepreneurial experience by planning the pre-commercialization of a technology resulting from university research. The objective is to stimulate the start-up of technology companies in Montreal.

Applicants must:

  • be graduate students from the University of Montreal;
  • be graduates of the University of Montreal;
  • be researchers and professors from the University of Montreal;
  • use a technology developed at the University of Montreal;
  • have the aptitudes to carry out the business project;
  • set up their project in Canada.

    An application can be submitted by a single person or by a team.

Selected students benefit from the following support:
1. coaching and consulting with experts;
2. practical workshops ( business model canvas, lean digital marketing, pitch, intellectual property, financial forecasts, etc.);
3. financial support to develop the project:
a) purchase of data for market research;
b) entries to targeted industry events;
c) subscriptions to platforms and tools etc.
4. merit award at the end of the course;
5. networking activities;
6. visibility.
