Description:

SODEC’s Investment Bank provides loans and loan guarantees to Quebec cultural businesses. The financial support is meant to:
1. support the development of all their activities;
1. enable the realization of their expansion potential;
2. ensure their sustainability, among other things, through succession or the transfer of businesses;
3. strengthen and maintain Quebec ownership;
4. ensure the financing of promising projects;
5. support digital development.

Comments on Funding:

The main financial tools offered are term loans, revolving credit and loan guarantees, and, exceptionally, project investment and share capital.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:
1. be a legally incorporated, for-profit or not-for-profit business, with the exception of sole proprietorships, which do not qualify except in the field of fine crafts;
2. have its head office in Quebec and demonstrate that effective control of the business is majority held by persons domiciled in Quebec. Headquarters means the place where the decision-making center is located and where the real management of the company is exercised;
3. be in operation for at least one year or work in new niches and without competition;
4. assume financial risk in operations for which funding is requested;
5. have the human and financial resources necessary to meet all of its financial obligations, in particular the repayment of the requested loan, according to the conditions determined by SODEC.

Application Steps:

1. All requests must be sent through the secure electronic portal SOD@ccès.
2. By connecting to SOD@ccès, applicants must:
a) create their user profile if they are a new user or enter their access codes;
b) choose the program corresponding to their request, i.e. number 60-34-00 for this program;
c) complete the application form and upload all required documents.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must prepare the documentation to transfer to SOD@ccès, including:
1. a declaration of the applicant company;
2. a completed personal review form;
3. additional information, as listed.
