Description:

This component aims to develop young people’s critical thinking with regard to media and information.

Comments on Funding:

The total assistance granted under Component 1 cannot exceed 75% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $50,000 per project. Please note that no cost overruns of the approved activities or project will be accepted for additional financial assistance.

Eligibility:

Section 1 is aimed at organizations established under one of the following legal forms:

non-profit organization;
cooperative incorporated under the Cooperatives Act (RLRQ, chapter C-67.2) or the Canada Cooperatives Act (SC 1998, c. 1);
collective enterprise defined within the meaning of the Social Economy Act (RLRQ, chapter E-1.1.1);
Indigenous organizations or committees with the mission or mandate to contribute to the development of young people in their community. These organizations or committees must correspond to one of the following categories:
indigenous public authority,
Aboriginal organization, society or community group;
college and university educational establishments;
autonomous public libraries and regional public library service centers.

Application Steps:

The applicant may only submit one application for financial assistance per call for projects: either for section 1 or for section 2.

The request for financial assistance must be produced online using a form accessible in the di@pason service This hyperlink will open in a new window.and is automatically forwarded to the department of the Ministry responsible for processing it.

The application for financial assistance must be submitted on the dates determined each year by the Ministry. To find out these dates, consult the program calendar (PDF 77 KB) .

Before submitting their application, the applicant must register in the di@pason system as a partner client (or update their profile if they are already registered). It is recommended to complete the registration (or update) no later than one week before the project submission deadline, to allow the Ministry time to validate the profile. No extension of the submission date will be granted to an applicant who begins their procedures too late to complete them within the prescribed deadlines.

Documentation Needed:

For the evaluation of his application, the applicant must present, in the form on di@pason, a description of the project specifying the following information:

the context and justification;
objectives and activities;
the targeted persons;
the course;
the expected results and the expected impacts.
In addition to the duly completed form, the applicant must attach the following documents:

the schedule for carrying out activities (PDF 182 KB) (start and end dates, and main stages of carrying out the project);
detailed budget forecasts ( XLSX 356 KB) ;
its most recent financial statements;
its latest annual activity report;
its letters patent;
the resolution adopted by its competent authorities allowing the production of the request for financial assistance and the identification of the agent;
the duly signed document Conditions for granting financial assistance (PDF 1.47 MB) ;
the partner’s commitment letter, if applicable;
any other relevant information to support his application.
To be submitted for evaluation, the file must be complete, comprehensible and based on accurate data. Otherwise, it will be up to the applicant to correct or complete them within the time limit granted by the Ministry.
