Description:

Commerce-Montreal Program aims to encourage the renovation of commercial spaces and properties and stimulate the city’s economy by focusing on projects that support the social, circular, and ecologically responsible economy

Comments on Funding:

The subsidy covers 40 per cent of eligible work costs up to $50,000 per project. In addition, 75 per cent of costs for professional services related to the work are reimbursable, up to $10,000 per project.

At a minimum, applicants must invest at least $40,000 (before taxes) per project in order to encourage projects that will have a substantive impact on a district.

Applicants must be commercial property owners and business owners throughout the agglomeration.

1. Download, fill out and sign the admission application form (in French)
2. Prepare the following documents in digital format:
–Proof of ownership
–Current photos of the building facade and the commercial space where the project will take place
–Charter of the French Language declaration form (in French), completed and signed, along with the certificate, attestation of application or attestation of registration, if applicable. If needeed, view the Guide of Charter of the French Language declaration (in French)
3. Submit the application form along with all required documents

For Commercial Tenant:
1. Download, fill out and sign the admission application form (in French)
2. Prepare the following documents in digital format:
–Proof of rental
–Landlord approval form (in French) for the work
–Current photos of the building facade and the commercial space where project will take place
–Charter of the French Language declaration form (in French), completed and signed, along with the certificate, attestation of application or attestation of registration, if applicable. If needeed, view the Charter of the French Language declaration guide (in French)
3. Submit the application form along with all required documents

Applications must be submitted during the eligibility periods. Applications submitted outside these periods will be systematically rejected.
