Support measure for the purchase of electric off-road vehicles (ERVs)

Description:

The support measure for the purchase of electric off-road vehicles (VHRE) helps support the electrification of the off-road vehicle fleet of tourist organizations by granting financial assistance.

Comments on Funding:

Financial assistance takes the form of a non-repayable grant.

The maximum financial assistance rate is 50% of eligible expenses (before taxes), up to a maximum of $49,500. For the purchase of ERVs, the financial assistance granted cannot exceed $15,000 per eligible vehicle. For the purchase and installation of charging stations, the financial assistance granted cannot exceed $5,000 per charging station (or connector).

Selected tourism organizations have 12 months, following the date of signing the announcement letter, to acquire and install the requested equipment.

In any case, financial assistance may not be increased to compensate for cost overruns in approved projects.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

Be legally incorporated under the laws of the governments of Quebec or Canada for more than two years.
Carry out activities and own an establishment in Quebec.
Be registered on the BonjourQuebec.com websiteThis hyperlink will open in a new window..
Be the organization that will incur the expenditures, and acquire and use the VHRE.
Have a structured approach to sustainable development or energy transition.
Commit to covering the maintenance and repair costs of the equipment for which it is requesting.
Commit to advocating responsible use of VHRE, promoting the preservation of the natural environments in which they will be used.
Commit to actively participating in the accountability exercise of the measure by providing the information and data requested to document, in particular, the experience, the benefits associated with the project and the planned follow-ups.

When required, the tourist organization has the following obligations:

For an organization that offers adventure tourism activities, it must demonstrate that it complies with the standards of the Quality-Safety program of Aventure Écotourisme QuébecThis hyperlink will open in a new window.(AEQ).
For an organization that operates tourist accommodation, it must comply with the legislationThis hyperlink will open in a new window.in force and hold a registration number.
For an outfitter, it must have a valid permit and comply with the Act respecting the conservation and development of wildlifeThis hyperlink will open in a new window. and its regulations.

In order for a request for financial assistance to be studied, the following documents must be prepared and submitted:

the duly completed and signed application form (PDF 1.25 MB) for financial assistance;
bids for the acquisition of VHRE and, where applicable, the acquisition and installation of charging stations or connectors;
the latest complete financial statements (one year) including the balance sheet and income statement;
proof of a structured approach to sustainable development or energy transition;
for adventure tourism organizations, the document proving that the standards of the AEQ Quality-Safety programThis hyperlink will open in a new window. are respected;
for Indigenous organizations, a certificate recognizing their Indigenous status as defined in the Applicant’s Guide;
confirmation of financing, if available.
An incomplete file will not be processed and will be returned to the applicant.
