Description:

This component aims to develop projects for reserved designations or valorizing terms by preparing the analysis and governance documents necessary for the examination of the projects by the Council for Reserved Designations and Valorizing Terms (CARTV).

Comments on Funding:

The maximum rate of financial assistance is 75 % of eligible expenses. The maximum amounts of financial assistance per applicant for the duration of the program are as follows:

$ 35,000 for the conduct of a feasibility study or the conduct of a complementary study;
$ 90,000 for the development of specifications and the control plan.
The maximum assistance for this component cannot exceed $150,000 per applicant for the duration of the program.

Deadline:

Applications for financial assistance will be submitted continuously until March 1 , 2026, or until the funds are exhausted , whichever comes first

Eligibility:

Eligible customers
The eligible clienteles are as follows:

An association or group of companies from the biofood sector;
A non-profit business operated by a legal entity legally constituted under the laws of the government of Quebec or Canada (NPO, cooperative or personified association) or a non-personified association mandated to represent an association or group of businesses;
An indigenous community or nation recognized by the National Assembly of Quebec and mandated to represent an association or group of businesses.
Eligible projects
The project must fall into one of the following categories:

Carrying out a feasibility study to assess the merits of the project to recognize reserved designations or promotional terms;
Development of specifications specifying the particular characteristics of a product and which aims to file an application for recognition with the CARTV, including the control plan which meets the product certification requirements;
Carrying out a complementary study specifically aimed at responding to one or more issues raised by the process of recognizing a reserved designation or a valorizing term.

Financial assistance application form – Section 1 (DOCX 129 KB) , duly completed and signed;
Complete description of the project, including budget forecasts and a timeline or a complete business plan, if not included in the financial assistance application form (sections 6 and 7);
Financial statements of the organization for the last two years (if unavailable: form T2042 of the Canada Revenue Agency income tax return for the last two years); Read the contents of note number1
List of companies that are part of the association and that support the project.
