Description:
The general objective of the program is to support the development and consolidation of an innovative, scalable and sustainable tourism offer to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the Quebec tourism industry.
Its specific objectives are as follows:
To increase the adaptation of the offer of Quebec tourism businesses in the context of the global pandemic related to the COVID-19.
Strengthen the development and consolidation of tourist attractions that have a structuring effect on their region, that encourage the retention of Quebecers or that motivate travel.
Increase the economic and social vitality of communities and regions through the development of a sustainable, original and diversified tourism offer.
Promote the adoption of good practices in terms of social responsibility by tourism businesses.
Comments on Funding:
Eligible Expenses: Funding can be used for activities such as construction, expansion, interior or exterior development, adaptation or conversion, acquisition or replacement of equipment, and the development of new tourism experiences.
Minimum Project Cost: Eligible project costs must be at least $500,000.
The program is active until March 31, 2024. Applicants are encouraged to submit their proposals promptly to ensure consideration.
Eligibility:
Applicants: Legally constituted for-profit organizations (LPOs), non-profit organizations (NPOs), cooperatives, municipal entities, Indigenous communities or nations recognized by the National Assembly, and any grouping of the above-mentioned clienteles.
Projects: Must be related to construction, reconstruction (including demolition of existing obsolete infrastructure), expansion, interior or exterior development, adaptation or conversion, acquisition or replacement of equipment, or the development of a new tourism experience. Projects cannot be located within the Montreal or Quebec City census metropolitan areas.
Application Steps:
Determine Eligibility: Ensure your organization and project meet the specified criteria.
Prepare Documentation: Gather necessary documents, including a detailed project plan, business plan, confirmation of necessary funds and loans, and any required technical assessments.
Submit Application: Complete and submit the application form as per the guidelines provided by the Ministère du Tourisme.
Await Evaluation: The Ministère du Tourisme will review the application and notify applicants of their decision.
Documentation Needed:
Comprehensive project proposal outlining objectives, methodologies, and expected outcomes.
Business plan.
Confirmation of necessary funds and loans.
Technical reports or assessments supporting the project’s feasibility and alignment with program goals
Other Things to Note:
Policy for the Integration of the Arts: Projects involving the construction or expansion of a building or site open to the public must comply with the Policy for the Integration of the Arts into the Architecture and Environment of Government and Public Buildings and Sites.
Equal Access Employment Program: LPOs with more than 100 employees receiving financial assistance of $100,000 or more must commit to implementing an equal access employment program compliant with the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
