CED’s Support for Regional Quantum Innovation (RQI) aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and non-profit organizations (NPOs) adopt, develop and commercialize quantum technologies and products based on these technologies.

Comments on Funding:

1. Contributions for SMEs are generally refundable or conditionally refundable.
2. Contributions for non-profit organizations (NPOs) are generally non-refundable.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. SMEs operating in the quantum or related sectors (e.g., secured communications, cryptography, IT, sensors and imaging);
2. SMEs seeking to adopt quantum technology;
3. NPOs* including:
a) Organizations supporting the quantum ecosystem;
b) Organizations focused on quantum entrepreneurship (incubators and accelerators);
c) Post-secondary teaching institutions.
*Public organizations subject to the Act respecting the Ministère du Conseil exécutif (M-30) must have Government of Québec authorization.

Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI), Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) and Community Futures Program (CFP) are the three major programs that bring together the various financial assistance measures offered by CED. REGI supports the economic growth of businesses and regions through innovation.
QEDP aims to help communities seize promising economic development and diversification opportunities.
CFP supports local economic development and strengthens the capacity of communities to develop their full potential in a sustainable manner. Through this program, CED provides financial support for community development organizations in Quebec regions.
