Description:

The Resilient Agricultural Landscapes Program (RALP) provides funding to producers to increase the environmental resiliency of agricultural land. The program helps producers achieve outcomes related to water quality, soil health and biodiversity through the adoption of beneficial management practices.
The program concentrates on three main BMPs:
1. land use;
2. grazing management; and
3. livestock stewardship.

Comments on Funding:

Each BMP has its own funding limits and eligibility requirements. Program payments are subject to a minimum rebate of $250. The minimum claim is $500. Funding cap varies per category, ranging from $10,000 up to $200,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be Saskatchewan agricultural producers (individual, partnership or corporation) who can demonstrate a minimum of $50,000 in gross farm income in Saskatchewan in the year of application or the year prior to the application;
2. be individuals, at least 18 years of age; or
3. be First Nation Bands in the Province of Saskatchewan; or
4. be Crown Land Pasture Associations in Saskatchewan are eligible for Land Use and Grazing Management BMPs as well as the Sulphate Water Treatment BMP. Must have a Saskatchewan Premises Identification (PID) number;
5. be new entrants if they are confident they will be able to provide proof of meeting the gross farm income threshold within the five-year term of Sustainable CAP.

Application Steps:

1. Applicants must submit a Pre-Approval Application before they can submit a Claim Form.
2. Applicants must download and complete the RALP Rebate Application Form.

Other Things to Note:

1. The Resilient Agricultural Landscapes Program (RALP) is offered under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) and replaces the Farm Stewardship Program previously offered under CAP. The improved version has a focus on water quality, soil health and biodiversity by empowering producers to adopt beneficial management practices (BMP). 2. Pre-approval applications for selected BMPs must be received by December 31, 2027, for projects to be completed by March 31, 2028.
