Product Development Program (PDP)

The Product Development Program (PDP) provides funding for prototype and product development services to food, beverage and other agri-processing value-added companies.
The program is designed to:
1. increase value-added revenues;
2. increase value-added processing of Canadian agriculture products;
3. develop new value-added products, prototypes and processes; and
4. expand and grow value-added businesses.

Comments on Funding:

1. Funding takes the form of grants of up to 50 per cent of eligible project expenses, to a maximum of $10,000 CAD, in a lump sum at the end of the funding agreement, upon completion of all project activities and approval of the financial report.
2. Stacking with other federal or provincially funded initiatives not permitted.

Deadline: Continuous Intake

Applicants must be agriculture value-added processors who meet the following value-added criteria:

  • Physical transformation or upgrading of any raw/primary agricultural product(s) or any agricultural by-product or waste into a new or upgraded product or further processed product.
  • Processors must operate and pay taxes in the Province of Saskatchewan.
  • The applicant’s proposal/product must demonstrate substantial use of Canadian grown agriculture products.
  • Must be a for-profit organization.
