Description:

The Market Travel Grant provides support to individuals and businesses to attend markets and events.
This grant helps cover the costs of travel expenses to specific market opportunities.
For example:
1. Musicians who are invited to showcase at a festival or conference.
2. Craftspeople who have been invited to exhibit and sell at a curated gift fair.
3. Artists who have been invited to show a solo exhibition at a commercial gallery.
4. Film & TV Producers pitching projects at markets (not directors or writers).

Comments on Funding:

1. This grant can provide up to a maximum of 50% of the approved travel budget, to a maximum of $5,000 per project.
2. Creative Saskatchewan’s contribution will be determined by the number of times applicants have attended each eligible event beginning April 1, 2020. Funding is in the form of a grant as follows:
– 1-3 times: 50% of the approved project budget or $5,000 (whichever is lesser);
– 4-5 times: 50% of the approved project budget or $3,500 (whichever is lesser);
– 6+ times: 50% of the approved project budget or $2,000 (whichever is lesser).
3. Applicants can apply to attend multiple events with “Travel Slate”. Market Travel Slate applications for each market or event are capped at the grant limits, with a cap of $15,000 of the approved project budget or 50% (whichever is the lesser) per application.

Eligibility:

Applicants from all creative sectors supported by Creative Saskatchewan are eligible for this grant.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:

1. If an applicant departs for a market between now and the program open date of April 26, 2023, they will have 14 days from the program open date to send in their application.
2. If an applicant departs for / arrives from a market between April 26, 2023 and May 10, 2023, they will have 14 days from their return date to send in their application.
3. If an applicant is departing for / arriving from a market on or after May 11, 2023, the regular guidelines apply.
