The Animal Health and Biosecurity Program is designed to provide support to producers in the apiculture, beef cattle, bison, cervids, small ruminants (sheep/goats), dairy, poultry, and swine sectors.
The purpose of the program is to increase participation in biosecurity and animal welfare initiatives. This includes:
1. meeting industry standards and seeking certification;
2. improving producers' understanding of biosecurity and animal welfare needs; and
3. adopting improved practices through education and awareness, veterinarian or technical expert assessments, audits and equipment funding.


Comments on Funding:

Funding amount varies according to production category. Program payments are subject to a minimum rebate of $250. The minimum claim amount is $500. The highest funding cap is $50,000.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be producers (individual, partnership, co-operative or corporation) in the apiculture, beef cattle, bison, cervids, small ruminants (sheep/goats), dairy, poultry and swine sectors in Saskatchewan;
  • Specific eligibility criteria per eligible production category.
