Description:
The Research Grant provides support to projects that focus on market research and market intelligence activities identifying commercial opportunities and/or emerging technologies.
Comments on Funding:
Funding is in the form of a grant, and approved projects will be funded up to a maximum of 50% of the approved project budget or $25,000 (whichever is lesser).
Application deadlines vary per creative sector.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. be from all creative sectors supported by Creative Saskatchewan;
2. be Saskatchewan corporations;
3. be Saskatchewan individuals or residents;
4. be active practitioners in one of the creative industries identified under The Creative Saskatchewan Act (2013) (see general guidelines);
5. demonstrate their intention to earn their living within their chosen creative industry, as well as their ambition to grow their business beyond their current status;
5. have production expenses related to prototypes or product(s);
6. The result of the research should be to uncover new market opportunities (whether a new geographical focus or a new demographic opportunity), to upgrade business practices to “best practices”.
7. Projects that are eligible for any Creative Saskatchewan production grant (Book Publishing Production, Craft and Visual Arts Production, Digital Game Development, Live Performing Arts Production, and Sound Recording) should apply for a production grant rather than the Research Grant.
