Description:

This program provides grants of 50% of eligible expenses to young innovative companies with high growth potential (startups). Grants can be used to support their efforts to develop their technology business, from the design and development stage of their product or process, through to start up.

Comments on Funding:

The maximum amount of assistance over a period of 18 months cannot exceed $150,000 per company for projects of highly innovative high-growth potential young companies (startups).

Eligibility:

Applicants must be for-profit companies and social economy enterprises that:
1. are innovative and high-growth potential (startups) with less than five years of existence;
2. are owned by less than 50% by other companies or organizations;
3. are not created through a consolidation, restructuring, expansion of pre-existing activities, or takeover of such activities;
4. have rights to use the intellectual property of their product or process;
5. allocate a significant portion of their resources (50% or more) to the company’s development as well as the design, development, or marketing of their product or process.
6. meet the following conditions:
a) not be or use services of subcontractors registered in the Register of Companies Ineligible for Public Contracts (RENA);
b) have fulfilled all obligations related to previous financial assistance from the Government of Quebec or Investissement Québec for at least 2 years;
c) not be a government-owned corporation or a corporation controlled directly or indirectly by a government (municipal, provincial, or federal), a municipal entity, or companies that are majority-owned by a government-owned corporation;
d) not be in a state of bankruptcy or insolvency;
e) not commit ethical violations or offer products or services that could compromise the integrity or question the probity of the Quebec government, even indirectly.
