Description:
The 2024 Stu Clark New Venture Championships is a high-energy competition focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. Teams will compete with both their business plans and elevator pitches for over $60, 000 in cash prizes!
The competition has both an undergrad and graduate stream which allows participants to connect with other entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from the industry.

Eligibility:
Presenting Team – Graduate Student Eligibility:
1. This competition is for full time or part time graduate level students enrolled in the current academic year.
2. Teams are allowed to have up to 5 students. 3. Students from all graduate programs (not just MBA’s) and PhD’s are eligible to participate.
4. Each team must have the endorsement of a faculty or staff advisor at their school and must provide contact information for the advisor regardless of whether the advisor will participate with the team at the NVC.
5. Applications to the NVC must be accepted by the team’s faculty advisor. The faculty advisor must on behalf of the sponsoring university, attest to the eligibility of the team, their adherence to the rules and guidelines, and acknowledge potential penalties for violations and infractions. 6. Undergraduate students are permitted to compete on the team as long as the majority of students are at the graduate level. 7. In the scenario where a team consists of individuals from various universities, it is necessary to select the name of a single university to apply and present with. 8. Students are not allowed to compete at the NVC in multiple academic years using the same idea. Presenting Team – Undergraduate Student Eligibility:

Application Steps:
1. All applications must be submitted online through the Startup Tree portal by clicking on the corresponding (undergraduate or graduate) yellow button below.
2. Each venture is required to create an account before submitting their application and executive summary.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must create a 1-2 page executive summary plus a cover page. Any pages after the 3 page limit won’t be considered.
The cover page should include:
a) Venture Name;
b) Name of University;
c) Student name(s) and contact information;
d) Advisor name and contact information.
Other Things to Note:
In addition to two main campuses (Fort Garry and Bannatyne (Winnipeg)), the University of Manitoba has multiple satellite sites throughout the province and research settings around the world.
