Description:
The BMO Winterset Award is designed to encourage and promote excellence in all genres of writing. The BMO Winterset Award is awarded to an outstanding literary work in any writing genre (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, published drama etc.) regardless of the subject matter. One prize of $12,500, and two prizes of $3,000 are awarded annually.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. be publishers on behalf of the writer,
2. have published literary works, written either by a native-born Newfoundlander and Labradorian, or by a current resident of the province. Residency is defined as having lived in Newfoundland and Labrador for a minimum of twelve consecutive months immediately prior to the time of submission of works.
Both emerging or established writers may be considered.
Works must have been published between January and December of the current calendar year.
Application Steps:
Submissions must be made by a publisher, and must include at least four non-returnable copies of all works submitted. Submissions are made to ArtsNL and are accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year. The annual deadline for submissions is December 31.
