Valley Heartland CFDC’s Field to Fork Loan is intended to a local food producer, farm gate, and food + beverage-related business, connecting them to their consumers. Field to Fork business financing provides incremental growth assistance with seed funds, growth funds, and Harvest funds at reduced, fixed interest rates with flexible repayment terms to accommodate seasonal sales.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of a loan in three categories:
1. For Seed Fund:
– Amount: $5,000 – $15,000;
– Rate: Prime +2.5%;
– Term: Fixed for 3 Years.
2. For Grow Fund:
– Amount: $15,000 – $30,000;
– Rate: Prime +3 %;
– Term: Fixed for 4-5 years.
3. For Harvest Fund:
– Amount: $30,000 – $60,000;
– Rate: Prime +3.5%;
– Term: Fixed for 4-5 years.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:
1. be a local food producer;
2. be a farmer;
3. be a food + beverage-related business;
4. be located in Lanark County + North Leeds.

For Seed Fund: Start-up or in operation for 1-3 years;

For Grow Fund: Expanding, in operation for 3+ years;

For Harvest Fund: For farm or food processing equipment.

1. schedule a phone call, video call or in-person meeting to explore their business needs and financing options;
2. complete the simple online application;
3. be notified of the decision.
