Description:

The Compensation for Wildlife Damage Category is designed to provide funding to cover loss of livestock due to predation and loss of crops due to wildlife.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. be Yukon producers;
2. be able to demonstrate a commitment to effectively managing attractants that could lead to wildlife conflicts;
3. have suffered eligible livestock lost due to predation or loss of crops due to wildlife (damage caused by waterfowl and big game)

Eligible livestock lost due to predation:
1. cattle, sheep, goats, swine, elk, bison, llamas, alpaca and rabbits.
2. domestic poultry: turkey, chicken, quail.
3. other species may be eligible at the discretion of the Agriculture Branch.
