Description:
The Cultural Industries Training Fund (CITF) supports the training needs of Yukon’s cultural industry. It funds training that will increase employment, productivity or economic potential.
It supports training for jobs relating to the economic aspect of the arts sector. These jobs enable artists’ work to reach the public. This includes jobs such as: artistic director, general manager, production coordinator, marketer, framer, curator, conservator, editor, copyist, tuner, production accountant, translator, publisher, designer, make-up artist, etc.
The objective of this fund is to provide training and career enhancement opportunities for Yukon workers in the cultural or creative industries that will enhance people’s abilities to work in the sector and advance the creative sector as an economic force in the Yukon.
Comments on Funding:
Funding preference will be given to projects that:
• Require less than $5,000 for individual training and less than $8,000 for group training;
• Will benefit more than one individual or organization;
• Demonstrate potential improvements in employment opportunities or business growth;
• Increase the cultural economy opportunities for First Nation artists and cultural workers

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. have lived in Yukon for one continuous year prior to applying.
2. Individuals, commercial and non-for-profit organizations may apply.
3. Permanent employees of the Yukon and federal governments are not eligible for funding under this agreement for projects that pertain to their regular employment.

1. Contact an arts advisor to ensure your project is eligible. Email artsfund@yukon.ca or phone 867-667-8789.
2. We will put you in touch with the appropriate sector representative. They have experience in the cultural industries and will discuss your project with you to ensure that it is good fit for this program.
3. Read and complete the guidelines and application form.

100 Hanson Street in Whitehorse, Yukon. The doors of our building are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. There is a box for applications. However, we strongly recommend you submit your application by mail or email at this time.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must submit:
1. the applicant’s résumé, or the résumés of people who will be taking the training;
2. confirmation letters from proposed mentors;
3. résumés of mentors;
4. mentorship training plans, if relevant, with curriculum, timelines and schedule;
5. acceptance letters from courses or training to which you have applied;
6. letters from other people in the sector showing a demand for the training or project;
7. contextual information to help the committee understand why the opportunity or project is significant.
Other Things to Note:
If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day. Late applications will not be accepted.
