Description:

The purpose of the City of Whitehorse Environmental Grant Policy is to guide the allocation and management of environmental fund grants within the City of Whitehorse. These grants support outcomes identified in the Whitehorse Sustainability Plan.

Major Grant: funding over $1,000 to a maximum of $25,000.

Rolling deadline [October 15]

Eligibility:

Eligible applicants including any school in Whitehorse, Yukon Societies Act registered society, and Whitehorse licensed business with a Whitehorse mailing address and Yukon bank account. Applicants receive no more than one Environmental Grant per year with no money obligations owed to City grants.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. Read the Environmental Grant Policy, which outlines eligibility, assessment criteria, and procedures.
2. Read the Whitehorse Sustainability Plan (2015-50) to demonstrate how this project will contribute to the Plan.
3. Complete this Environmental Grant Application Form. If more space is needed, add lines to the tables or include a separate page.
4. Email the completed application to sustainability@whitehorse.ca.

No paper copies will be accepted. Supporting documentation can either be scanned and emailed, or originals can be dropped off at the Sustainability Office for scanning and returned to you.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must:
1. Submit Environmental Grant Application Form.
2. Submit Support letters from community project partners.
3. Submit Liability insurance, licenses, permits, landowner consent.
4. Submit Quotations for service contracts and equipment/capital expense items (two quotations for costs over $500).

Other Things to Note:

The application deadline is October 15 at 4:30 p.m.
