Description:
The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) funds the Yukon’s agriculture and agri-food sector. This is a 5-year cost-shared program funded by the governments of Canada and Yukon.
Comments on Funding:
1. Commercial applicants and New Entrant/Small Business applicants are eligible to receive funding for up to 60% of eligible project costs.
2. Non-profit organizations and government applicants, including Yukon First Nations government applicants, are eligible to receive funding for up to 100% of eligible project costs.
Funding Maximum for:
1. Business planning – Hiring consultant services and purchasing business software
a) Maximum Funding: up to 90 per cent of eligible costs for the first $5,000;
b) up to 60 per cent of eligible costs for expenses beyond $5,000
c) maximum of $20,000 over the lifetime of the program
2. Training – Attending agricultural courses, seminars, workshops and conferences
a) For commercial and new entrants/small businesses applicants only: maximum of $15,000 over the program’s lifetime
– Participating in mentorship opportunities
b) For commercial and new entrants/small businesses applicants only: maximum of $15,000 over the program’s lifetime.
3. Internship – Hiring an intern and providing an opportunity for skill development in the agriculture and agri-food sector.
a) For commercial and new entrants/small businesses applicants only: maximum of $7,500 of eligible costs per year and up to a maximum of $22,500 over the lifetime of the program.
b) For non-profit organizations, governments and institutions applicants only: maximum of $12,500 per year and up to a maximum of $37,500 over the lifetime of the program.
March 31, 2028 Continuous Intake
Eligibility:
There are 3 categories of applicants eligible for Sustainable CAP funding:
1. Commercial applicants
• commercial farm or agricultural businesses;
• processors who are processing food products grown or raised in the Yukon;
• other agri-businesses; and
• First Nation businesses.
Applicants must:
a) be a legal entity capable of entering into a contractual agreement;
b) have a valid Yukon corporate registration;
c) be in good standing with the Government of Yukon; and
d) have been operating in the Yukon for at least 1 year.
2. New entrants and small businesses
• farm or agriculture businesses;
• processors who are processing food products grown or raised in the Yukon;
• other agri-businesses; and
• First Nation businesses.
Applicants must:
a) be a legal entity capable of entering into a contractual agreement;
b) have a valid Yukon corporate registration;
c) be in good standing with the Government of Yukon; and
d) be in operation in the Yukon.
3. Non-profit organizations, governments and institutions
• First Nation governments;
• municipal or territorial governments;
• non-profit organizations and First Nation organizations; or
• educational institutions or research bodies.
Applicants must:
a) registered under the Yukon Societies Act;
b) have a valid Yukon corporate registration;
c) have been in compliance for 2 consecutive years; and
d) be in operation in the Yukon.

2. Download, complete and sign the application form.
3. Attach any required documents as outlined in the application form.
4. Submit your application package to the Agriculture Branch.

8. Quotes for consultants and contractors
9. Consultant’s qualifications
10. Other documents as requested
