Description:

Yukon corporations or cooperatives can apply to the Yukon Business Investment Tax Credit for an individual tax credit for Yukon investors.

This tax credit allows Yukon entities to issue shares to Yukon investors in exchange for an agreed upon return and an individual tax credit of 25 per cent on the amount invested.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. be an incorporated, private corporation;
2. maintain permanent establishment in Yukon;
3. pay at least 25 per cent of its salaries and wages to Yukon residents; and
4. not exceed $100 million in assets.

Investors must be:

5. 19 years of age or older; and
6. a Yukon resident on December 31 of the year in which the tax credit is claimed.

1. Talk to an advisor about your plans to submit an application. Email ecdev@yukon.ca or phone 867-456-3803.
2. Complete the application.
3. Submit your application.

1. a completed application form;
2. all the required documents, as requested.

Other Things to Note:

1. We accept applications through monthly intakes. Intakes open on the first day of each month and close on the last business day of each month. All applications we receive during a month will be given equal review priority in that period.

We’ll continue to have monthly intakes until we’ve allocated all available funds for the year.
