Description:

The Competitions program supports organizations that award impactful prizes to exceptional recipients in arts and culture.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. professional arts organizations;
2. professional arts service organizations;
3. community not-for-profit organizations;
4. organizations receiving operating funding through MAC;
5. based in Manitoba. However, prize winners may be from outside Manitoba.

Application Steps:

Applicant must:

1. Create ba profile through Manipogo portal.
2. Submit Online Application.

Documentation Needed:

Applicant must submit project information containing:

1. Describe the competition or event (maximum of 500 words)
a. The history of the competition and/or prize(s)
b. If this is a new prize, describe your organization’s capacity to deliver this prize
c. Describe what the prize(s) recognize
d. Describe how the prize(s) advance or benefit the prize winner(s)
2. Payment and working conditions (maximum of 250 words)
a. Paying professional fees and/or honorariums is required and should be reflected in your budget. Explain how fees are being determined.
b. If there are participants involved in this project, how will you ensure safe working
conditions?
3. Prizes
a. List all prizes to be awarded in the competition.
4. Cultural integrity (maximum of 300 words)
a. Cultural integrity is the practice of respecting and honouring the ownership of materials, traditions, and knowledges that originate from a particular culture or community. Describe your relationship to the cultures or communities represented in your project and how you are approaching your work with cultural integrity. Consult the resource
