Description:

Agriculture Financial Services (AFSC) provides Crop Insurance for annual and perennial crops as well as honey and bee overwintering.
These programs provide:
– protection for producers from financial losses due to circumstances beyond their control,
– coverage for many types of operations including commercial, organic, pedigreed seed, and specialty cropping.

Comments on Funding:

Federal and provincial governments support AgriInsurance programs by paying all administration expenses and sharing premium costs with clients. The client’s premium is calculated by multiplying the dollar coverage by the client’s share of the premium rate and applying any applicable premium adjustments.

April 30, 2025

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria set by AFSC. Applicants are required to provide legal, operational, and financial information to establish their eligibility for the insurance programs.

Application Steps:

Applicants must initiate the application process online by completing the following forms:

1. Application for Contract of Insurance
2. Application for Identification Number

Once completed, you must forward both documents to your preferred AFSC branch office. A relationship manager will contact you to set up a meeting, review your application information and determine next steps including providing you with the required forms.
