Description:
Saskatoon Establishment Insurance provides coverage to Manitoba producers who grow saskatoons commercially and sustain losses due to natural causes during the establishment phase. This program covers saskatoon plants for a 3-year establishment phase, and remains in effect from year-to-year until cancelled by the producer.
Comments on Funding:
The premium cost is shared 40 per cent by the producer, 36 per cent by the Government of Canada, and 24 per cent by the Province of Manitoba.

March 31 is the last day to apply for Saskatoon Establishment Insurance, make changes (add or delete crops and change coverage levels), and to cancel AgriInsurance.
Plants that are transplanted on or before June 20 or in the case of fall plantings, plants transplanted between August 15 and November 30, are eligible for insurance.
