Who can apply
- Be a registered business in Nova Scotia
- Qualify as a Small or Medium Enterprise (SME) of 499 or fewer employees
- Have a developed product and/or service available for purchase
- Be available to participate in all required program activities, including:
- Needs assessment interview
- Virtual sessions
- Coaching activities (online or via phone)
- Program surveys
The training component fee is $250 and covers the cost of your export training, support services, and coaching. All sessions are delivered virtually via Zoom.
To be considered for the Launch Export Program, you must be a registered business in Atlantic Canada that qualifies as an SME. As there are only eight available spots per province, there will be a selection process to finalize applicants. It is important to note that all selected businesses must agree to fully participate in all the required stages of the Launch Export Program.
To be eligible for Launch Export, the SME must:
- Have interest to sell its products and/or services outside of Canada.
- Have a developed product and/or service ready to sell in new markets.
- Be available to fully participate in all required program activities, including:
- Needs Assessment Interview
- Training Program: 15 virtual sessions on export topics over 7 months
- Participate in coaching activities (virtual)
- Participate in all program surveys
About the funding
With the support of the provincial and federal governments, each participating company will gain access to an estimated $15,000 of valuable export training, coaching and consultation.
Included with your participation in the Launch Export Atlantic Incubator:
- Targeted export educational sessions: delivered over seven months, the Launch Export Atlantic Incubator Program covers Business Foundations, Export Readiness, Export Education & Market Entry Strategy. Online sessions include opportunities to connect with fellow participants and to apply the material to your business. Participants will be invited to attend an in-person kick-off in Truro on September 28 & 29.

- 1:1 Coaching Opportunities: each company has access to 10 hours of discretionary coaching to help solve export challenges and get advice on entering foreign markets.
- Digital Marketing Asset Allowance: each company may access up to $1,000 + HST for the creation of digital marketing assets that can be used to support export growth opportunities.
- Companies will have access to ongoing as-needed 1:1 business support from their provincial representatives.
- Future opportunities to participate in educational trade missions with cohort participants and program alumni.
Potential Educational Trade Mission in Fall 2026 for up to 20 companies - includes travel funding
support. Mission is not confirmed; it is pending funding approval.
