Who can apply
- Commercial Energy Assessments and Meters: Contact Enbridge Gas to confirm your eligibility. All Energy assessments and meter projects must be pre-approved by Enbridge Gas to qualify for incentives. Incentives are only available to Enbridge Gas Inc. customers with at least 100,000 m3 in annual natural gas consumption in the previous year.
Only one opportunity identification incentive is available per address tied to an Enbridge Gas account. Customer applicants and Business Partners are limited to a maximum of five opportunity identification projects that are not linked to a completed Custom Retrofit project per year.

Funding tiers*:
- Institutions: Receive up to 50% of eligible assessment costs, to a maximum of $20,000 per project.
- Other commercial sectors: Receive up to 50% of eligible assessment costs, to a maximum of $10,000 per project.

Previous year natural gas consumption (m3): ≥100,000 and < 3,000,000; Maximum incentive: up to $6,000
Previous year natural gas consumption (m3): ≥3,000,000 and < 10,000,000; Maximum incentive: up to $10,000
Previous year natural gas consumption (m3): ≥ 10,000,000; Maximum incentive: up to $20,000 (institutions only)
Incentives cannot exceed the lesser of 50 percent of eligible costs or the maximum amount determined by the customer’s annual natural gas consumption for the address where the opportunity identification is taking place.
Eligible activities include:
- Engineering feasibility studies
- Steam trap surveys
- Air and water balancing
- Metering installations
These incentives can also be applied to energy audits, steam trap audits, or meters. Meters may be used for measuring natural gas, steam, or hot water.
