Yukon Early Learning and Child Care Funding Program: Child Care Operational Funding – Wage Enhancements
This program provides support to early learning and child care centres in the Yukon by providing funding to offset early learning fees and the cost of operating high quality programs. The intent of this funding is to enhance the wage of early childhood educators, up to 40 hours per week.

Wage enhancement for early childhood educators, up to 40 hours per week, plus an extra 14% to cover employment-related costs; 2026 hourly enhancements of $4.12 (Level 1) to $15.31 (Level 3) in Whitehorse and $1.85 (Level 0) to $17.11 (Level 3) in rural Yukon

Who can apply
Applicants must:
- be licensed child care operators employing Early Childhood Educators;
- agree that the wages paid to each early childhood educator, before the addition of the wage enhancement, must be no less than the minimum wage under the Employment Standards Act;
- be promoting high-quality early learning environment;
- be established in Whitehorse and in rural communities of Yukon.
Not eligible:
Educators whose wages are already fully paid according to the wage grid through the Supported Child
Care Program will not receive an additional wage enhancement
About the funding
The intent of this funding is to enhance the wage of early childhood educators, up to 40 hours per week
It also includes an extra 14% to cover employment-related costs like
o Canada Pension Plan (CPP) o Employment Insurance (EI) o Vacation pay o Workers compensation
To receive this funding, centres must pay each educator, at a minimum, according to the established
