Description:
The Housing Initiatives Fund provides funding for affordable rental housing projects across the Yukon.
There are 2 streams:
a) shovel-ready projects in the Yukon; and
b) project concepts.
Eligible projects must include a minimum of 4 affordable units in Whitehorse and 1 unit in communities.
You can combine the Housing Initiative Fund with other government funding programs.
Comments on Funding:
1. Shovel-ready projects are eligible for up to $100,000 for each unit up to a maximum of $1,000,000.
2. Projects concepts are eligible for up to $20,000.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be:
1. community housing providers including public or private non-profit housing organizations or rental co-operatives;
2. First Nations governments and development corporations;
3. municipalities;
4. private sector companies and individuals.
Application Steps:
Applicants must:
1. Complete the application form, including proof of Yukon residency.
2. Submit your form to the Yukon Housing Corporation.

Other Things to Note:
The intake for project concept funding applications is open all year round.
Applications for shovel-ready funding applications are now being accepted. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2025.
