Companies can tap into world-class talent coming out of Ontario’s publicly funded post-secondary institutions and strengthen their capacity to develop new products, services and processes, while interns receive hands-on industry experience in areas such as software and hardware development, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

As part of the broader Critical Industrial Technologies initiative, the Sector Adoption (SA) Program is a challenge based multi-partner program that drives significant impact and advancement of a whole sector.

The Save on Energy Retrofit program offers businesses in Ontario incentives to upgrade equipment, reduce energy bills, lower their carbon footprint and increase productivity. The incentives are designed to help businesses speed up their payback on energy-efficiency equipment upgrades. The program offers incentives in two streams:
– Custom stream for larger, more complex retrofit projects to capture greater energy savings;
– Prescriptive stream for targeted retrofit projects focusing on commonly used products and technologies.

The IESO’s Save on Energy Industrial Energy Efficiency Program (IEEP) has been extended until June 30, 2025. It supports customers across Ontario in improving their industrial processes and implementing system optimization projects. The program offers organizations up to $5 million in financial incentives for each large, industrial energy-efficiency project accepted into the program. Eligible projects will deliver electricity savings using proven commercial technologies to lower energy consumption and reduce electricity bills.

The Energy Performance Program (EPP) rewards customers who are able to make behavioural and operational changes that support capital investment projects, enabling them to grow their energy savings year over year.

The Revitalizing Hamilton Tax Increment Grant Program (the Program) is intended to provide a Grantto incentivize property owners within strategic commercial districts to develop,redevelop or otherwise improve properties and/or buildings (including designated heritage buildings) in a mannerthat will supportthe broader revitalization ofthe commercial district as well as generate new municipal property tax revenue through increased property assessments.

The Revitalization Extensive Project Fund offers organizations the opportunity to apply for funding for larger-scale projects in Revitalization Areas.

The Residential Development Charges Grant program is designed to encourage private sector investment in residential property development in the Downtown and Old East Village areas. A grant, equal to a rebate of residential Development Charges (DCs), is offered for each new residential unit constructed.

The Regional Housing First Program (RHFP) will increase the creation of affordable rental housing, including addressing the needs of people experiencing homelessness in Greater Victoria. The program is the result of a partnering agreement between the Capital Regional District (CRD), BC Housing and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

Through RHFP, BC Housing, the CRD and CMHC will invest to develop and acquire new affordable housing units to be owned by the CRD or Provincial Rental Housing Corporation (PRHC). Those units will be operated by successful project proponents or non-profit partners. CRD and BC Housing will also seek partnership opportunities to further increase the supply of affordable rental housing within the capital region.

Reduced rates for a new industrial building or an enlargement of more than 50 per cent of the gross floor area of an existing industrial building, as defined in the Regional Development Charge By-law 14-046.

Limited grants to offset Regional Development Charges (RDC) for rental and supportive housing project priorities that proceed to building permit stage on a first-come, first-served basis. Only applicable for projects that have received a capital grant through the Affordable Housing Strategy Program.

Brownfield sites may be eligible for Regional Development Charge (RDC) Exemptions to help cover the cost of remediation. The value of the RDC Exemption is based on the sum of direct costs of remediation at 50% reimbursement to a maximum of $1,000,000, less any additional financial assistance previously received. This exemption applies to all of Waterloo Region, except where development charges are waived for developments. Please refer to the Regional Development Charges Bylaw 19-037 (specifically, Schedule C) for more information.

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce that the Reaching Home team is now accepting proposals for funding to support projects aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness in Iqaluit for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The Public Washroom Accessibility Grant is a part of the Citywide Public Washroom Strategy which aims to improve access to safer and cleaner washrooms for all Edmontonians and visitors.

The Housing Development Incentive Program consists of phasing-in assessment values on newly constructed apartment buildings with two or more units and existing buildings being refurbished to add more rental units.

The program is for developers and builders of multi-family dwellings aimed at the creation of additional rental units within the province of New Brunswick.

The Office-to-Residential (OTR) Construction Conversion Grant offers a per-unit incentive grant, functioning as a forgivable loan, for eligible office-to-residential conversion projects.

The Nunalingni Piruqpaalirut Fund or Growth in our Land Fund (NPF) provides financial resources to support the community housing sector in Nunavut. It was created in partnership with the Nunavut Housing Corporation (NHC), under the Nunavut 3000 Strategic Plan, to address several housing priorities across the territory.

The fund will help increase the affordable housing stock, reduce homelessness, and leverage the overall resources to expand the housing continuum.

The Novoclimat program promotes the construction of new, high energy performance homes, according to specific construction requirements. It should be noted that the purchase of a condominium in a Novoclimat certified building does not entitle the owner to financial assistance, which is paid instead to the project’s promoter.

The Novoclimat program applies to buildings of over 600 m² with up to 10 storeys in which electricity, natural gas or residual forest biomass is the main source of energy. The buildings must be newly built or undergoing major renovation.
It should be noted that the purchase of a condominium in a Novoclimat certified building does not entitle the owner to financial assistance, which is paid instead to the project’s promoter.

The intent of the LEED Grant Program is to provide an economic catalyst for the construction and or redevelopment of sustainable industrial, commercial, mixed-use and multi-unit residential (as defined in Part 3 (Group C) of the National Building Code) buildings and land development in the urban area. This program applies to the Hamilton LEEDING the Way Community Improvement Project Area (as such boundaries are presently defined).

The Land for Housing Program helps create affordable housing. Private developers and community housing developers can apply for provincially owned land available through the Land for Housing Program.

This is a matching reimbursement grant for interior renovations

The Affordable Housing Investment Program includes a grant stream specifically for Indigenous-led housing providers. It provides limited capital funding to Indigenous organizations to build new affordable housing units and/or rehabilitate existing affordable housing units.

The Province of British Columbia created the Indigenous Housing Fund in 2018. This fund represents a $1.7-billion investment to build more than 3,500 affordable homes on and off reserve. There are now more than 3,220 new affordable homes open or underway through the IHF program since its launch in 2018.

The Housing Initiatives Fund provides funding for affordable rental housing projects across the Yukon.

There are 2 streams:
a) shovel-ready projects in the Yukon; and
b) project concepts.
Eligible projects must include a minimum of 4 affordable units in Whitehorse and 1 unit in communities.

You can combine the Housing Initiative Fund with other government funding programs.

The goal of the Housing Accelerator Fund Rental Housing Grant Program is to increase the supply of rental housing using incentives during the Housing Accelerator Fund funding period. Both non-profit and private sector developers as defined below are eligible for funding under the Program subject to Program guidelines. Projects developed under this Program will promote the “missing middle“housing forms. Incentives are aligned with the City of Fredericton’s Imagine Fredericton – Municipal Plan with funding prioritized to the Urban Core and New Neighbourhoods. Development in certain areas outside the identified growth areas will also be considered. Projects located in the Urban Core include a focus on the development of affordable housing.

Registered Heritage Structures are generally heritage buildings or engineering works that are good examples of their type in a good state of preservation and which help to tell the diverse stories of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Heritage NL is looking for projects that blend the restoration of a designated property with community planning workshops, architectural history research, and opportunities for transmission of traditional skills related to conservation of the site or the site’s history. The grant is intended to direct funding to projects that demonstrate community value as well as a need for material conservation.

All Registered Heritage Structures are eligible to apply for a Maintenance Grant once every three (3) years, dated from the last payment of a grant for that property. Maintenance grants cover 50% of eligible expenses for exterior work using traditional materials, with costs for repair/replacement to historic windows covered to 80%, both to a maximum of $3,000. There is no fixed deadline for the submission of a Maintenance Grant application. The number of grants approved in a year will be based upon available funding.

The Heritage Incentives Program provides matching grants (50 per cent) of up to $15,000 for residential properties and $25,000 for commercial properties to complete exterior conservation work on a municipally registered heritage property.

The City of St. John’s aims to conserve significant heritage resources including buildings and streetscapes. The Heritage Financial Incentives Program assists property owners to maintain designated heritage buildings and homes. Properties in the City’s Heritage Areas will also be considered.

Through this program, SODEC contributes to the consolidation of broadcasting venues essential to the development and diversity of Quebec talent.

The Hamilton Heritage Property Grant (HHPG) Program is intended to provide financial assistance in the form of a grant for structural / stability work required to conserve and restore heritage features of properties used for commercial, institutional, industrial or multi-residential purposes; the conservation and restoration of heritage features of properties; and for heritage studies/reports/assessments for properties that are designated under Parts IV or V of the Ontario Heritage Act.

The Hamilton Heritage Conservation Grant Program (HHCGP) is intended to provide financial assistance in the form of matching grants between $1,000 to $5,000 for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage resources. The objective of the Hamilton Heritage Conservation Grant Program is to assist in the on-going conservation of heritage properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act that are not eligible for the Hamilton Heritage Property Grant Program (HHPGP).

The City of Fredericton’s Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) Modular and Manufactured Housing Grant program provides grants to facilitate the use of modular or manufactured construction for new rental or home ownership units. It is intended to further reduce the cost of construction for new
housing units and provide an opportunity to further grow the missing middle housing option. Both nonprofit and private sector developers as defined below are eligible for funding under the Program subject to Program guidelines.

The goal of the Housing Accelerator Fund Middle Intensification Grant Program is to develop new dwelling units on properties containing existing buildings in the City of Fredericton during the Housing Accelerator Fund funding period.

The main purpose of the HAF Growth Areas Housing Grant Program is to incentivize, by way of grants, the development of new housing in Development Charge Areas over the CMHC, HAF funding period (2023 – 2026). The HAF Growth Areas Housing Grant Program includes a per-door incentive grant for landowners and developers in Development Charge Areas to be disbursed upon the successful completion of the building’s foundation

The Future Ready (FR) program provides support for Ontario-based SMEs working in CIT’s four key sectors (Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Agri-food and Mining) to upskill/reskill current employees on Critical Technologies (5G and advanced networks, AI, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Quantum,
and Robotics) to support the company’s adoption of Critical Technologies and commercialization of new products and services. Under this program eligible SMEs receive support to hire an external third-party consultant to train their employees in the adoption and implementation of these Critical Technologies.

This program also provides functional improvement grants for 15% of the cost for materials and labour up to a maximum grant of $400,000 to install or repair integral building systems, including work to bring these systems up to current building code requirements, improve their energy efficiency (including plumbing, heating, electrical, etc.) or improve their accessibility (including ramps, equipment, etc.).

A single grant application can apply for both a conservation grant and a functional improvement grant simultaneously. Also, conservation work exceeding $100,000 is eligible for inclusion in a 15 per cent functional improvement grant. For example, a conservation project costing $150,000 would be eligible for a 50 per cent conservation grant of $50,000 plus a 15 per cent functional improvement grant of $7,500.

The Financial Incentives Program for Schmidtville and Old South Suburb HCDs provides conservation grants for 50% of the cost for materials and labour up to a maximum grant of $50,000 to complete exterior conservation work on properties located within the boundaries of these two HCDs.

This component of the Thermal Waste Valorization program, called Support for the implementation of infrastructure aimed at capturing and distributing thermal waste , offers financial assistance for the design, construction and commissioning of eligible infrastructure.

The Savings by Design Residential program gives production builders free access to industry experts and energy modelling to build a Net Zero Energy Ready discovery home plus qualify for incentives to build to ENERGY STAR© for New Homes standards.

The Affordable Multi-Family Housing New Construction is designed to provide incentives to builders or energy modelling company making capital improvement projects that will help save energy and money, and keep their building running optimally. Also, this provides incentives to eligible customers who are implementing high-efficiency equipment.

Through their Equipment Upgrades: Multi-Unit Residential In-Suite Fixed Incentive Program, Enbridge Gas offers financial incentives to all their eligible customers who will take advantage of energy-saving technologies such as heat-recovery ventilators (HRV) and energy-recovery ventilators (ERV). These technologies save energy by decreasing the load on the building’s heating system.

The Building Automation program provides funding for building automation systems (BAS). BAS is an efficient way to increase a building’s flexibility to respond to a variety of operating conditions. Monitoring, managing and adjusting key energy systems from a single touchpoint is an effective way to optimize energy use automatically. Building owners and energy managers need to reassess control of indoor spaces as there are challenges on fluctuating occupancy levels, increased ventilation requirements and tighter budgets whether they run a large office building or affordable housing.
This program offers incentives through the following:
1. Affordable Multi-Family Housing Program;
2. Commercial Custom Retrofit Program;
3. Industrial Custom Engineering Program.

The Boilers program is designed to provide system upgrade, expert help and incentives to improve boiler energy efficiency and saves money. Without proper system design, boilers can waste energy and increase operational costs. 1. Affordable Multi-Family Housing Program;

The Industrial Studies & Assessments program is offered to customers that uncover energy-saving opportunities in their facilities. From equipment and processes to complex systems, evaluating the facility’s energy performance can help determine the financial benefits of investing in energy-efficient improvements.

The Building Mechanical Systems Redevelopment component of the EcoPerformance program provides financial support for projects that aim to reduce energy consumption by optimizing the operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting systems in buildings on an existing site.

The Economic Development and Growth in Employment (EDGE) Incentive Program supports new construction or major renovation of buildings in targeted employment sectors. The program provides tax increment equivalent grants, whereby the City refunds a portion of the increase in property taxes that results from new development or redevelopments.

The main purpose of the Accelerator Funding for Downtown Densification Grant Program is to
incentivize, by way of grants, the development of new housing developments in Downtown Moncton
over the HAF funding period (2023-2026). The program includes a per-door incentive grant for new
dwelling units disbursed upon the successful completion of the building’s foundation.

The Development Incentive Program supports the evolution of attractive, pedestrian-friendly
main streets, one new commercial or mixed-use building at a time. The program provides
matching reimbursement grants to cover a portion of eligible costs. Sites must be located
within Business Improvement Areas or other Council-approved Target Areas.

The Province of British Columbia created the Community Housing Fund (CHF) in 2018. This fund is a $3.3-billion investment to build more than 20,000 affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes by 2031-32. Approximately 9,000 of these homes are open or underway across the province.

The Commercial Vacancy Assistance (CVA) Program will provide financial assistance in the
form of a Grant to new permanent or ‘pop­up’ commercial tenants of a presently vacant at, or
below grade, commercial space so as to make permanent interior improvements for the
purposes of improving the attractiveness and usability of the space for the intended
commercial use. To be eligible, the intended commercial use must be accessible to the public/
customers and may include, but not be limited to, retail uses, artists studios/galleries
containing a retail component, personal service businesses, microbreweries, commercial
entertainment uses, commercial recreation uses and/or dine-in or take-out restaurants

The Commercial District Revitalization Grant Program is intended to provide
Grants that will support long-lasting and predominantly exterior physical improvements to the
appearance, accessibility and environmental sustainability of commercial or mixed-use
commercial properties located within strategic commercial districts, including Business
Improvement Areas (BIA), whose visibility and long-term success contributes to Hamilton’s
image for both residents and visitors. Activities supported by this program include:
• Exterior building façade improvements;
• Exterior/interior improvements that achieve Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities
Act (AODA) standards;
• Exterior building/property improvements which improve appearance or functionality
including those that enhance environmental sustainability of the building/property; and
• Limited interior mechanical/ventilation improvements for restaurant uses

The Commercial District Housing Opportunities Program (the Program) is intended to provide
financial assistance in the form of a low-interest Loan and Grant to promote the improvement
or development of dwelling units that will create new/improved housing opportunities support
robust local commercial district populations that add vibrancy and support demand for local
commercial businesses/services. Activities supported by this program include:
– Converting existing non-residential spaces into dwelling units where permitted in accordance with the applicable City zoning by-law;
– Undertaking renovations to existing dwelling units;
– Creation of new dwelling units, including accessory Dwelling Units, via building additions or new detached accessory buildings, including laneway housing; and/or
– Creation of new dwelling units through development of vacant land, surface parking lots or redevelopment of existing buildings.

The ClimatSol-Plus program supports the implementation of the Soil Protection and Rehabilitation of Contaminated Sites Policy and the achievement of its action measures. Reusing contaminated land, which is often located in the heart of cities and served by a wide range of infrastructure, is an undeniable advantage, both from an economic and environmental standpoint. In implementing the ClimatSol-Plus program, Québec ensures ongoing funding for the rehabilitation of contaminated lands.

The main purpose of the Business Improvement Area Missing Middle Residential Infill Grant Program
is to incentivize, by way of grants, the development of new housing developments within Moncton’s
Business Improvement Area (BIA) over the HAF funding period (2023-2026). The program includes a
per-door incentive grant for new dwelling units disbursed upon the successful completion of the
building’s foundation.

The purpose of the Urban Beautification Program Old North End Pilot is to provide incentives for
people living in the Old North End to invest in the beautification of the façades of their homes
and small businesses, or the landscaping of their front yards. Increased reinvestment in the
facades and front yards of properties coordinated with community enhancement and
enforcement will result in a more desirable streetscape. The Program prioritizes transformative
projects which seek to restore original character elements or use high quality materials and well
accepted design practice to revitalize facades. As part of the Old North End Pilot Program,
incentives will remain available in the Central Peninsula for a transition period.

The Barton/Kenilworth Tax Increment Grant Program is intended to provide a Grant to incentivize property owners located along the Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North commercial corridors to develop, redevelop or otherwise improve properties and/or buildings (including designated heritage buildings) in a manner that will support the broader revitalization of these districts as well as generate new municipal property tax revenue through increased property assessments.

The Barton / Kenilworth Revitalization Grant Program is intended to support the development
of properties as well as the maintenance, functionality, viability, accessibility and aesthetics of
existing commercial, mixed use commercial, multi-residential or institutional use buildings
within the Barton Street and Kenilworth Avenue North commercial corridors which were the
subject of the Barton and Kenilworth Commercial Corridors Study.

The Atlin Capital program provides grant funding to support community infrastructure projects that will strengthen the local and regional economy. The program supports public multi-use facilities or capital investments that drive revenue and job creation and will provide a long-term asset for the community of Atlin.

The Atlin Business Façade Improvement program provides grant funding for local businesses and not-forprofits to enhance businesses façades, catalyzing economic development in the community. The grant
funding provides a rebate to business/building owners to invest in aesthetic improvements to storefronts
that encourages increased walk-in traffic and patronage of commercial establishments.
The Business Façade Improvement Atlin program represents a partnership between the Province of B.C.’s
Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs and Northern Development who have both provided funding
for this initiative.

The Affordable Rental Housing Program (ARHP) is funded by NLHC and partners with private and community housing developers to create new affordable rental units for lower income households. Support is provided through capital funding in the form of a forgivable loan for new construction projects, conversion from non-residential or additions to an existing residential structure. Funding amounts are determined by a combination of project location and attributes

The Cape Breton Regional Municipality’s Affordable Housing Property Tax Adjustment Policy aims to incentivise developers, who create four or more new affordable housing dwelling units and agree to maintain affordability for at least 10 years, by reducing municipal property taxes over a 10-year period.

The purpose of the Affordable Housing Permit and Community Planning Fee Grant is to facilitate the
development of Deeply Affordable Housing units in the City of Fredericton by a charitable or non-profit
organization or other incorporated entity. The Program helps eligible applicants decrease project
development costs by providing grants equal to the costs of municipal community planning fees and
municipal building and plumbing permit fees.
The grant may also help applicants obtain funding from federal and/or provincial housing programs as
these often require partnerships with other levels of government.

Affordable Housing Now provides eligible projects with support through two funding streams: Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Grants and Capital Grants.

The main purpose of the HAF – Accessory Dwelling Unit Grant Program is to incentivize, by way of grants, the development of new dwelling units in low density areas over the CMHC, HAF funding period (2023 – 2026). The HAF – Accessory Dwelling Unit Grant Program includes an incentive grant for landowners to be disbursed upon the final inspection of the building.
